Ramaphosa Tells Zondo He needs more time before he returns to the State Capture commission

President Cyril Ramaphosa has postponed a planned appearance at a commission of inquiry into state corruption next week. While many are speculating the reasons for this and linking this decision to maybe the challenges within the ANC and the ANC-led  government itself, only time will tell the real reason.

Ramaphosa had been scheduled to give testimony before the panel headed by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo on May 31 and June 1. Ramaphosa delayed his appearance to a later date after a request from the commission, the presidency said in a statement  on Thursday.

“The president’s office is in communication with the commission to secure suitable alternative dates for his appearance,” according to the statement.
