Second Wave of Covid-19 in South Africa: What you need to Know

South Africa, December 10th 2020, the minister of health -Dr. Zweli Mkhize confirms 8 166 more cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 in the past 24hours an increases from the over 6000 cases in the previous 20 hours.

In his statement, the minister reiterated his plea to South Africans to heed the threat of the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases identified. He said, there was clear evidence of an exponential rise in transmission and this is cause for serious concern. As of today, a cumulative total of 836 764 cases have been reported with 8 166 new cases.

Regrettably, we report 173 more COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 90, Free State 13, Gaueng 8, Kwa-Zulu Natal 10 and Western Cape 52 which brings the total to 22 747 deaths.
