Now in its 10th year, the U.S celebrates Manufacturing Day (MFG Day), which is actually a week-long celebration at the U.S. Census Bureau, grew out of an initiative of The Manufacturing Institute. It is held annually on the first Friday in October to celebrate this important sector of the nation’s economy. The Census Bureau honors manufacturing by providing a week’s worth of rich content and statistics that inform businesses and policymakers. The data paint a picture of the state of this vital economic sector.
MFG Week encourages careers in this important sector by spurring companies and educational institutions across the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers and community leaders. It also empowers manufacturers to come together to address their challenges.
